The Greene for State Senate campaign issued the following statement upon having received an update from the Michigan Bureau of Elections on Campaign Finance Complaint #26-003:

“As we’ve known since first obtaining permission from the City of Saginaw Fire Chief, City Manager and City Attorney —  the Bureau of Elections has found “no violation” for our use of the fire station building in our campaign ads.

They found that any candidate had equal opportunity to use the station in the same way Chedrick Greene did.

Our opponent and his GOP backers put six-figure ad buys behind grossly deceptive ads which never fooled district voters and have now been proven false.

The update also addresses the use of Chedrick Greene’s uniform in our ads. Since the Bureau’s own manual says Chedrick was allowed to be in uniform, and Fire Chief Brandon Hausbeck told ABC12 News that he believes we followed the law and did nothing wrong, we will ask the BOE to reconsider this part of their determination.

As we’ve done since day one of our campaign, our candidate and coalition look forward to prioritizing voters’ real concerns, and winning so we can deliver real results.”
