Greene is the first Democrat ever to receive the Farm Bureau PAC’s support for this crucial mid-Michigan swing seat
SAGINAW, Mich. – Michigan Farm Bureau AgriPac has endorsed state Senator Chedrick Greene in his campaign to win Michigan Senate District 35’s four-year term on the ballot this November. It is the first time the organization has endorsed a Democrat to represent the swing district which includes portions of Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties.
The state’s largest general farm organization, Farm Bureau is a 40,000 member network of farmers, agribusiness leaders, ag educators, and supporters who work to strengthen Michigan agriculture. Its AgriPac works to elect candidates who listen to farmers and advocate for Michigan agriculture through bipartisan, common-sense, science-based policy.
“I ran for office to make life better for the hardworking families in mid-Michigan who are hurting, and farmers have been hit especially hard,” said Senator Chedrick Greene. “I can’t undo the tariffs or war that have destabilized markets and driven costs sky-high, but I can fight for funding and policies to help our farmers and rural communities weather this storm. It is an incredible honor to have this trust and support from a group representing such vital parts of our economy and culture.”

Greene will carry the “Friend of Agriculture” endorsement through November’s general election contest. The organization was neutral in the May 2026 special election for Senate District 35. In 2022, it endorsed Republican Annette Glenn over Democrat Kristen McDonald Rivet in the state Senate race that ultimately decided the majority in that legislative chamber.
Sen. Greene is running unopposed in the August 4th Democratic primary for MI-SD-35 following dominant performances in the recent special primary and general elections. The retired Marine and Fire Captain’s working-class leadership helped power his 33-point win in a 6-way primary last February and his 20-point victory over Republican Jason Tunney in May.
Chedrick Greene was sworn in as Senator for Michigan’s 35th district on May 21, 2026 to complete the final months of the term vacated by McDonald Rivet who was elected to Congress. A purple seat in a purple state, MI-SD-35 has been trending red at the presidential level for over a decade. After McDonald Rivet won the most recent full Senate term election by nearly seven points in 2022, Donald Trump only lost to Kamala Harris in SD-35 by less than one percentage point in 2024.
Absentee voting for the August 4 primary is underway as of June 25, 2026. Winners will compete in the November 3, 2026 general election.
